Yes Virginia you can run Chrome right now
A lot of people don’t think you can run Chrome on anything but windows yet. Rightfully so because if you search for Chrome Mac or Chrome Linux, you get an intimidating “we’ll email you when it’s ready” form. But, you can get early access releases for Mac and Linux (including 64-bit) right now on the dev channel.
I’ve been running it on my 64-bit Karmic install for the last two weeks and haven’t had any problems at all with it (knock on wood). Extra bonus is that being on the dev channel allows you early access to play around with/hack on the upcoming Chrome Extensions. If you plan on playing with extensions, I highly recommend the Chromium-Extensions Group and checking out the early docs.
